Founded in Malden in 2015, High Expectations became an accredited English language school in 2023, dedicated to helping international students and immigrants achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals. Today, the school serves learners from around the world through accredited English language programs, college and career pathway services, and community-based educational initiatives.

How we started
Today, High Expectations runs a full-time, CEA-accredited English language program in Malden — a long way from the one-on-one SAT tutoring we began with. It’s designed for international students preparing for college, work, or a new life in the United States. F-1 students come from around the world to learn English and U.S. culture here, gaining the language and life skills to advance their academic and professional goals.

Our team
High Expectations is powered by a diverse team of educators, student support professionals, and administrators committed to helping learners succeed. With expertise in English language education, international student services, curriculum development, compliance, and community engagement, our team works together to provide a supportive and high-quality learning experience.
From admissions and enrollment to language development and academic achievement, we guide students through every stage of their educational journey. Our multilingual staff understands the challenges and opportunities that come with studying in a new country and is dedicated to creating an environment where every student feels welcomed, supported, and empowered.
Behind every student success story is a team that believes in the transformative power of education. Together, we help students build the language skills, confidence, and opportunities they need for college, career, and life in the United States.
Eight teachers run our classrooms. Each of them has been chosen for the same reason: they teach English the way it’s actually used.
Meet our teachersMore than a classroom
Throughout the year, we host events that celebrate the cultures and traditions our students bring with them: winter festivities, Halloween decorating, student appreciation days, Thanksgiving potlucks, and field trips into Boston and to notable landmarks across Massachusetts.
These aren’t extras. They’re how our community gets built — and how new students find their place.
